GHOST RADIO
written by Justin Fowler-2007

(Am, C, G, Am, Am)

Am C G Am Am
I got a story to tell you about my old ghost radio
Am C G Am Am
It all happened to me just a few years ago

You see, I'm not the type to stop when I see a sign,
But something deep inside told me I better stop this time.
So, I pulled into the drive of this yard sale down the road
I took a look around and came across this old radio
The old man said I'll make you a deal, but I don't want to let it go
Its been in my family for years, and the sound it brings… well, its solid gold

So I paid the man and headed on back home
I put it in the garage, plug it in, and turned it on
And the sound I heard chilled me to the bone
It said the year is 59' and welcome to Grand Ole Opry LIVE
And we're proud to present a singer by the name of Patsy Cline

Well, I would pull up a chair day after day
And listen to Ernest Tubb and the Carter Family
Kitty Wells, Bill Monroe, and Hank Williams too
This was the greatest thing I had ever listened to

After a couple of weeks, not missing a show
I noticed an inscr i ption on the bottom of the old ghost radio
It said to George Dewey Hays “1925”
Everyone called him “The Solemn Old Judge”
He founded and shaped the Opry we all know and love

That's when I knew he was sending me a sign
Telling me to spread the word… That The Music Will Never Die!!
