Montgomery Transcribed by Terry Fouty D Her parents never took the young girl to church E A never spoke of his name, never read her his word D Two non-belivers walking lost in this world E A took their baby with-in, what a sad little girl D Her daddy drank all day and mommy did drugs E A never wanted to play, or give kisses and hugs D She'd watch the T.V. and sit there on the couch E A while her mom fell asleep, and her daddy went out G A And the drinking, and the fighting D A Just got worse every night G A behind their couch she'd be hiding D A oh what a sad little life D Just like it always does, the bad just got worse E A with every slap, and every curse D untill her daddy hit a drunk rage one night E A used a gun on her mom, and then took his life G A D A And some people from the city, took the girl far away G A D A to a new mom and a new dad, kisses and hugs everyday D Her first day of sunday school, the teacher walked in E A and a small little girl stared at a picture of him D she said I know that man up there on that cross E A I dont know his name but I know he got off G A Cause he was there in my old house D A and held me close to his side G A as I hid there behind our couch D A the night that my parents died
