This is a more simplified version, after each verse a variation of picking through D can be used. You can use this for the
Louvin Bros original by removing the capo and playing the same chords.
After the dobro solo where the beat picks up you can use a more bluegrassy tempo-ed strum w/ an alternating bass strum bass
A few runs I use are from D to A
D F --0------
A C ----4-0--
A to D
D F ------0--
A C --0-4----
G to A (reverse for walk up to from A to G)
A C ------0---
E G --3-4-----
Last night my dear the rain was fallin
I went to bed... so sad and blue
Then I had a dream of you.....
I dreamed I was strolling in the evening
Underneath the harvest moon
I was thinking about you.....
Then we met out in the moonlight
The stars were shining in your eyes
But another was there too...
A G A D A G A D
I dont believe you've met my baby
You looked at her you looked at me
I wondered who you were talking to.....
I shook the hand of your stranger
But I was shaking more inside
I was still wond'ring who....
Your arm was resting on her shoulder
You smiled at her she smiled at you
Her eyes were filled with victory....
She said, "My brother wants to marry you"
And then my heart was filled with glee
I knew that you would marry me..
