Girl from the North Country
(written by Bob Dylan)
Sam Bush's version
Note to all: This is a slighty different version from other tabs(still
in the key of G)
This one follows the Sam Bush version found on his "Snowcaps: Peaks of
Telluride" album
Here goes
INTRO: [ G - C - G - C ] Of course you'll have to listen to the album to
get the rhythym right but note that there is a hammer-on between the
chord shift.
For example when youre playing the C chord, hammer on the Dstring 2nd
fret and play the G string open immediately before switching back to the
G chord.
VERSE:
Well, if you're [G]travellin' in the [D]north country [C]fair [D]
[C]Where the winds hit [D] heavy on the [C] border [G] line (walk down on
the low E string starting at the 3rd fret down to 2nd fret then open)
[Em] Remember me [D] to the one [C] who lives [G]there
{strum G - C - G - C }(INTRO)
[Em]She once [D] was a [C]true love of [G]mine.
{I tend to strum the intro between verses}
REMAINING VERSE LYRICS - Chords follow the same as the firts
Well, if you go in the snowflake storm
When the rivers freeze and summer ends
See for me she has a coat so warm
To keep her from the howlin' winds.
Please see for me if her hair hangs long
If it rolls and flows all down her breast,
Please see for me if her hair hangs long,
That's the way I remember her best.
I'm a wonderin' if she remembers me at all
Many times I've often prayed
In the darkness of my night
In the brightness of my day.
So if you're travellin' in the north country fair,
Where the winds hit heavy on the borderline
Remember me to one who lives there,
She once was a true love of mine.
