Back-Side of the Power Curve © by: Verne Garrison, Valley Park, Mo-July 12, 2007 Backside of the Power Curve The (D) songs I write (G) I have been (D) told Are like little chapters in a (A) book When (D) finished (G) turn the (D) page And make (A) another (D) fold That has (G) been my (D) intent All-----(A) along To (D) offer little (G) vignettes of my (D) life And describe (A) them in a (D) song (D) Now we had a saying (G) while learning to (D) fly That tested your judgment and your (A) nerve When (D) making the (G) final (D) approach Avoid the (A) backside of the power (D) curve Once in that (G) position and your touch-down (D) spot Is short of the runway-(A) dash There is (D) no way to add (G) enough power to reach (D) it So………….(A) ….you ….(D) crash So I try to stay top (G) side of the power (D) curve When I am writing and singing my (A) songs Doesnt take much (G) courage or much (D) nerve To chop off the (A) power when you are right (D) on So take those (G) little (D) chapters That make up the pages to my (A) book Hum (D) them or sing (G) them if thats what youre (D) after And when you are (A) finished, hang em on your own little (D) hook Avoid the back(G) side of the power (D) curve …………Roger four five Alpha (fade)
